“Eggers Electricians Brandon and Andy were professional, efficient, kind, polite and job knowledgeable.”
Most of Timnath has been built in the last couple of decades, so the typical house here has modern wiring and a builder-grade panel. What owners run into is capacity: the panel was sized for the house as sold, not for a Level 2 charger, a finished basement, a hot tub on the back patio and a heat pump all added later. The small older part of town near Main Street is the exception, where we sometimes find aging panels and outlets without a ground. See panel upgrade.
Inside town limits, the Town of Timnath issues electrical permits, with inspections done by its building inspection partner. Outside town limits, Larimer County issues them, or Weld County for addresses east of the county line. We apply for the permit, schedule the inspections and are on site for them.
Timnath is served by Xcel Energy or Poudre Valley REA, depending on your address. We look it up for your property and handle the coordination when a service upgrade or meter work means the power has to be disconnected and reconnected.
The calls we get most from Timnath are EV charger installation in attached garages, load calculations to see whether a panel can take one more large circuit, circuits and lighting for basement finishes, and whole-home surge protection added at the panel to help limit surges coming in on the service. For new patios we run circuits for hot tubs, outdoor kitchens and landscape lighting, each under permit.
Our crews cover Timnath and the neighborhoods along Harmony Road and Main Street, and nearby Windsor, Fort Collins and Loveland.

Every visit includes the repair, installation or service you called us for, plus the $89 Eggers Safety Inspection: a licensed electrician diagnoses the problem and does our 8-point Eggers Safety Inspection (not a city permit inspection): we verify grounding and bonding, spot-check outlets and switches, and visually check the panel, GFCI protection, smoke and CO alarms, visible wiring, exterior electrical and whole-home surge protection. You get a written price before work starts, and the $89 is credited toward your job when you go ahead. Call 7 days, 7am–8pm; office hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4pm.
Timnath is mostly newer subdivisions, with some older homes near the original town center, and keeps us busy with EV chargers, hot tub circuits and basement finishes.
A load calculation tells us. It may show you can add a charger as is, with a load-management device, or with a charger set to a lower current. A subpanel adds breaker space, but not more total power.
Only small plug-and-play tubs made for a 120-volt GFCI outlet can plug in, and never through an extension cord. Most full-size tubs need a dedicated, hardwired 240-volt GFCI-protected circuit.
Yes. Finishing a basement needs a permit, and the job typically includes smoke alarms, plus CO alarms where required, for example if you have gas appliances or an attached garage. We also check that your panel has room for the new circuits.
Common signs are frequent tripping, no open breaker spaces, an old fuse box, double-tapped breakers, or plans for an EV charger, heat pump or hot tub. A load calculation confirms it, and replacing service equipment now requires a surge protector.
Often a tripped GFCI upstream. One GFCI outlet can protect several outlets downstream of it, so check the GFCIs in bathrooms, the kitchen, the garage and outdoors before calling.

“Our tech Clint was courteous and professional and was able to come out the day after our call. More importantly he fixed the problem! We had an issue of multiple lights and switches not working after a swap of ceiling fixtures. Two other electricians- 1 a large outfit and 1 an independent - could not resolve it. We are extremely happy!”
