Every visit includes the $89 Eggers Safety Inspection

An 8-point electrical safety check plus your detailed estimate. The $89 is credited toward your job if you move forward. It’s only due if you decide not to go ahead.

The 8 points: electrical panel, main grounding & bonding, GFCI protection, smoke & CO detectors, outlets & switches, visible wiring, exterior electrical, and whole-home surge protection. Each one is marked Pass or Needs Attention.

What counts as custom lighting?

Anything beyond a standard fixture swap: under-cabinet and toe-kick lights, stair and step lights, cove and accent lighting, chandeliers and statement fixtures, and lighting scenes on smart dimmers.

Can you install fixtures I already bought?

Yes. We check that the fixture is listed and suits the location (damp or wet rating outdoors and in bathrooms) and that the box can support it.

Can you add lighting where there is no wiring?

Usually. We run new wiring through attics, basements or walls and add switches where you want them. Access drives the price, which we check at the estimate visit.

Can custom lighting be dimmed?

Usually, yes. We match dimmers to your LED fixtures or drivers so they dim smoothly without flicker or buzz. See switches and dimmers.

Do I need a permit for new lighting?

New lighting circuits and new or relocated fixtures need a permit and inspection. Simple fixture swaps on an existing circuit often don’t, but we’ll tell you before we start.

How much does custom lighting cost?

Every visit includes the repair, installation or service you called us for, plus the $89 Eggers Safety Inspection; you get a written price before work starts, and the $89 is credited toward the job when you go ahead.
